Cookie Policy

Effective date: 25 March 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Polldium uses, why, and how you can control them.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide analytics information to site owners. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which work in the same way.

2. Cookies We Use

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. No consent is required for these under applicable law.

Analytics

Polldium uses PostHog for product analytics and session replay, and Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate traffic (page views, country, browser). PostHog sets first-party cookies (names starting with ph_) and may record a session of your visit with form inputs masked. We also set an HttpOnly polldium_anon cookie so we can store anonymous poll leans and signup-wall events in our own database; those leans never count as votes. We also set a first-touch pld_ft cookie (not HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, 1 year) so the campaign that brought you to a poll permalink can be joined to a later sign-in.

You can opt out of PostHog capturing and the guest cookie at polldium.com/opt-out. Cloudflare Web Analytics remains cookieless.

Error tracking

Sentry may set a small session identifier in browser storage to correlate errors within a single session. This identifier is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking and is cleared when you close your browser tab.

3. What We Do Not Use

  • No advertising or targeting cookies.
  • No third-party social media tracking pixels.
  • No cross-site advertising identifiers. Analytics cookies are first-party to polldium.com.

4. Managing Cookies

You can opt out of product analytics, session replay, and the guest identifier at /opt-out. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling the Supabase authentication cookie will log you out and prevent you from signing in.

5. Changes to This Policy

If we introduce new cookies or tracking technologies we will update this policy and notify you via an in-app notification before the change takes effect.
